My Life is in Full Swing!

October 3, 2007

Good Evening ladies and gentlemen:

First and foremost I’d like to share some positive news: I earned an “A” on my first Trigonometry Test!!! YES! I have to credit this success to my dedicated studying. I take advantage of my free time here at the college as much as possible. I love that the college opens early and closes late so I can always find a safe, comfortable, studying environment. Honestly, the new chapter in Trig is more intense. Our professor suggested that we visit the Math Lab here at the Tomball College library. The best things about our Math Labs: They’re free & the tutors can comprehend up to even pre-calculus. So I may have to take them up on that offer. Ü

I have to give kudos to the Student Life offices here at Tomball College. The amazing counselors over in office South 114 have helped me finish mapping my future. I truly felt lost in my endless questions about Spring 2008 graduation, which University I should transfer to for my degree, and overall possible careers with the fields I want to study. The lovely counselors Sarah David and Lisa Davis took time from their lunch breaks to listen to my questions and answer them based on professional and personal college experiences. It’s settled: I will be transferring to SHSU to major in Spanish. I’ll teach High School Spanish while I worked towards earning a Master’s of Art degree in Psychology at an undetermined major university. Yay Me!

More great news!!! I am running and truly hoping to win the position of Tomball College Student Government Association’s Vice President of Student Outreach. I enjoy connecting with and helping students on a daily basis. This is really an opportunity for me to expand my benevolence and dedication to all of you through SGA. You’ve probably seen my flyers around school so please, don’t hesitate. The website will be open for voting until Friday October 5th, 2007.

Finally, I need to make a correction about my friend Alycia and her baby. She was experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions and didn’t deliver Naythan. However, I received a phone call at 8:17pm on October 2, 2007 and she is in the room…READY TO DELIVER! I am honestly excited and so proud! I do wish more than anything that I could be there for her this very moment. Alas, I will have to wait until I’m not too busy with school and work. Also, by the time I have my schedule clear I should also have enough money to spend at least two days with the new baby and my best friend. Congratulations and God Bless to them!

On a sad note, my aunt Justa passed away this week. She is one of my father’s older sister’s with my family currently living in Venezuela. I am definitely keeping my extended and immediately family in my prayers.

Thank you all for keeping up with my blogs. I hope to receive more comments from students and staff and anyone who takes the time to read. A very sweet young lady told me at the front counter the other day that she has been reading my blogs and realizes how busy I am. Ü I appreciate her acknowledgment and hope to receive more. Have a great week Tomball College and I’ll update you as soon as possible.
